Alex Mitchell
Alex Mitchell is Assistant Head, Partners at DesignSingapore Council, where he works with businesses, designers and industry partners to strengthen Singapore's design ecosystem and advance the strategic role of design. His work focuses on building partnerships across the design community and connecting design capabilities with organisations seeking to innovate, transform and create new value.
At DesignSingapore Council, Alex is involved in developing and delivering programmes and initiatives that support the growth of Singapore's design sector. He works across a diverse network of designers, businesses, institutions and industry stakeholders, helping to foster collaborations that demonstrate the value of design across different contexts and industries.
His experience spans design strategy, innovation and partnership development, with a particular interest in how design can be applied beyond products and aesthetics to influence systems, experiences and organisational change. He is interested in the role of design in helping organisations navigate complexity, respond to emerging challenges and create more meaningful experiences for people.
Through his work, Alex advocates for a broader understanding of design as a strategic capability—one that can shape not only what is created, but also how organisations operate, how people interact with products and services, and how new ideas can be translated into practical outcomes.
